Of or pertaining to the Jewish philosopher Philo, who flourished at Alexandria about the beginning of the Christian era. So Philonic |faɪˈlɒnɪk| a., in same sense; Philonism |ˈfaɪləʊnɪz(ə)m|, the system of Philo; ˈPhilonist, a follower of Philo; ˈPhilonize v. intr., to imitate Philo.
