vatje S. Afr.|ˈfacɪ| Also fadje, fagie, fatje, fikey, vaatjie, vaitje. [ad. Afrikaans vaatjie, dim. of vat water-carrier (see fat n.1).] A small cask or barrel for carrying water or wine; a soldier's canteen.
