‖ lytta Phys.|ˈlɪtə| [mod.L., a. Gr. λύττα, Attic form of λύσσα lyssa.] A vermiform structure in the tongue of various carnivora. In the dog it is vulgarly called ‘the worm’, and supposed to be a parasite causing liability to rabies.
