In Wales, a territorial and administrative division; usually subordinate to a cantref or cantred.

¶ Ignorant writers have confounded the word with OE. mót, ᵹemót, or L. commōtus, and spoken of it as a gathering or assembly. In Les Termes de la Ley (1641) it is confounded with commorth (misspelt commoith). |
