Vincent2 Path.|ˈvɪnsənt| The name of J. H. Vincent (1862–1950), French medical scientist, used in the possessive to designate a painful ulcerative condition of the inside of the mouth or the throat associated with infection with fusiform bacteria and spirochætes (described by him in 1896); also a similar condition of the gums that is accompanied by foul breath and bleeding.
