permease Biochem.|ˈpɜːmɪeɪz, -s| [ad. F. perméase (H. V. Rickenberg et al. 1956, in Ann. de l'Inst. Pasteur XCI. 843), f. permé(able permeable a.: see -ase.] Any enzyme which assists the passage of a substrate into a cell through the cell wall.
