peptizer Chem.|ˈpɛptaɪzə(r)| [f. peptize v. + -er1.] A substance which causes peptization, or which serves to prevent the coagulation of a colloid suspension; spec. a catalyst which facilitates the process of mastication or vulcanization of rubber, by preventing the recombination of broken polymer chains.
