Licinius Lucullus, a Roman famous for his wealth and the profuse luxury of his banquets. † Lucullean marble (tr. L. marmor Luculleum): some kind of black marble; by mineralogists of the 18th c. identified with the mineral now called lucullite or anthracoxenite.
