A primitive, deep-sea mollusc of the monotypic genus so called, belonging to the order Monoplacophora.

Little Neopilina has aroused little public interest, but scientifically it is far more important than Latimeria... Neopilina sheds much light on the origin of a whole animal phylum. 1973P.
