The name of Felix Pratt (1780–1859), Staffordshire pottery-manufacturer, used attrib. to designate a type of cream-coloured earthenware painted in high-temperature colours and widely produced in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. So Pratt-type adj., etc.
