Belonging to the subclass Didelphia of the class Mammalia, characterized by a double uterus and vagina, and comprising the single order of Marsupials. So diˈdelphic, diˈdelphine, diˈdelphous adjs., in same sense; didelph, diˈdelphid, an animal of the subclass Didelphia, or of the family Didelphidæ (opossums); diˈdelphoid a., double, as the uterus in the Didelphia.
