An orthorhombic basic vanadate of copper and calcium, CuCa(VO4)(OH), that is a secondary mineral found as green or greenish yellow crystals; calciovolborthite.
1927Mineral. Abstr. III. 234 For the crystalline varieties the name tangeite, from the Tange gorge, is proposed, and for the colloidal variety the term ‘Turkestan volborthite’ is retained. 1951C. Palache et al. Dana's Syst. Min. (ed. 7) II. 816 Tangeite appears to be identical with calciovolborthite. 1971Mineral. Mag. XXXVIII. 488 The writers..now place on record an occurrence in Leicestershire of tangëite, CuCaVO4OH, and volborthite, Cu3(VO4)2.3H2O, not hitherto described from Britain. |
