A scale with initial dimensions of 7 feet 5 inches (226 cm.) and 3 feet 9 inches (114·3 cm.), devised by the French architect Charles-Edouard Jeanneret, called Le Corbusier (1887–1965), based on the proportions of a human figure six feet tall, and intended to be used for the co-ordinated design of buildings, their contents, and their surroundings.
