1909Chem. Abstr. 2180 (title) Tubercular immuno⁓opsonins (bacteriotropins). 1910Lancet 25 June 1738/2 Neufeld and Rimpau drew attention to the presence in immune sera of a similar humoral substance, conditioning phagocytosis, but differing from Wright's opsonin in that it was thermostable. This they termed ‘bacteriotropin’. [In Deut. Med. Wochenschr. (1905) XXXI. 1610 they used the expression ‘Bakteriotrope Substanzen’.—Ed.] 1961Brit. Med.
