[ad. G. lyco-marasmin (Plattner & Clauson-Kaas 1945, in Experientia I. 196), f. mod.L. lyco-persici varietal or specific epithet (taken as gen. of lycopersicon: see lycopersicin) + Gr. µαρασµ-ός withering + -in1.]
A phytotoxic dipeptide, C9H15N3O7, which contains glycine and aspartic acid residues and was isolated from Fusarium bulbigenum var. lycopersici, the fungus which causes tomato wilt.
