1819Pantologia, Mastology... We trust we shall not be accused of pedantry in coining this term. 1839Penny Cycl. XIV. 352/2 Mammalogy, a hybrid word..Accordingly M. Desmarest has proposed the term Mastology, and M. de Blainville that of Mastozoology.
