Freq. in a derogatory sense. orig. U.S. Also (with hyphen) as v. Hence me-ˈtooer, me-ˈtooism.
The colloq. ejaculation ‘Me too!’ signifying either that the speaker shares another person's view or experience or that the speaker wants the same share as another is getting, is the basis of the modern use.
