A crystalline compound, 1-(2-oxopyrrolidino)-4-pyrrolidino-2-butyne, C12H18N2O, a metabolite of tremorine, which is capable of inducing the symptoms of Parkinsonism and is used in research into this disease.

Communications V. 276 For purposes of rough measurement, a unit was defined as the dose per Kg. which on intravenous injection in mice gave this threshold effect. It proved to be equal to approximately 15 µg. of 2-oxotremorine base. 1970Passmore & Robson Compan. Med. Stud.
