The name of Charles L. Tiffany (1812–1902), goldsmith and founder of a fashionable New York firm of jewellers Tiffany and Co., and of his son Louis C. Tiffany (1848–1933), Art Nouveau decorator noted for his iridescent glassware, used: a. attrib. (sometimes with small initial) to designate objects made or designed by either of these (but esp. the son) or imitating his style, esp. as Tiffany glass, Tiffany lamp. b.
