1. A law student of an Inn of Court; a student who argues a moot case.
1602Coke Rep. iii. To Rdr. D iv, So in the profession of the Law, there are Mootemen, (which are those that argue Readers Cases in houses of Chauncerie..). Of Mootemen after eight yeres Studie or thereabouts, are chosen Vtter⁓barristers. 16..Howell Twelve Treat.
