[Only as an artificial rendering of med.L. summagium (1249 in Gross Gild Merch.), ad. OF. somage:—med.L. *sagmaticum (cf. summaticum, 1214 in Du C.), f. L. sagma (see sum n.2).]
1. A toll payable for carriage on horseback.
