▪ I. hoove see hoof, houve, hove. ▪ II. hoove|huːv| [f. OE. hóf-, ablaut-stem of heave v.; perh. representing ME. hove, for hoven pa. pple.] A disease of cattle, characterized by an inflation of the stomach, usually due to eating too much green fodder.
