Neurol. & Psychiatry I. 366 Berger's first papers described two electrical rhythms. The first, which he called ‘alpha waves’ and which was referred to five years later by Adrian and his collaborators as the ‘Berger rhythm’, consists of an almost sinusoidal discharge with a frequency of about 10 per second and with a potential varying irregularly from zero to about 100 microvolts. 1941[see alpha 3 f]. |
