longifolene Chem.|lɒndʒɪˈfəʊliːn| [f. mod.L. longifol-ia, specific epithet of the pine Pinus longifolia from which the oil was first isolated (f. longi- + -folia, f. L. folium leaf) + -ene.] A colourless, somewhat viscous oil that is present in the turpentine oil from some species of pine and is a tricyclic sesquiterpene, C15H24.
