1. A valve or valvule.
Usually with Latin qualifying term, as valvula coli, valvulæ conniventes.

2. Ent. An elongated blade-like process attached to the coxa on the eighth or ninth abdominal segments of some insects and forming part of the ovipositor; = valve n.1 3 a.
