An ancient land mass in north-western Europe comprising most of Scandinavia and Finland and parts of the Soviet Union west of the White Sea. Also in extended use, Scandinavia and Finland as a political unit. Hence Fennoˈscandian, ˌFennoscandiˈnavian adjs.
