Defective articulation in speech. Hence aˈnarthric a., of or pertaining to anarthria (Cent. Dict., 1889).
First used in G. by E. Leyden 1867, in Berl. klin. Wochenschr. 25 Feb. 78/1, adopting a suggestion of Dr. Tobias.
