[f. Gr. λεπιδ-, λεπίς scale + -oid; cf. λεπιδοειδής scale-like (Galen).]
A. adj. Scaly; pertaining to the Lepidoidei, a family of fossil fishes having large rhomboidal scales.
B. n. A fish belonging to this family.
