The dried leaflets of a Brazilian plant Pilocarpus pinnatifolius, family Rutaceæ, having diuretic and sudorific properties. Also applied to other plants having similar properties.

This drug, which has long been employed by the natives of South America, received its first notice, under the various names of Jaborandi, Jaguarandy, and Jamguarandi, from Dr. T. J. H.
