Excision of a strip of conjunctiva around the cornea; peritomy.
1869G. Lawson Dis. Eye (1874) 19 Syndectomy—Peritomy.—This operation was first practised by Dr. Furnari, of Paris, in 1862. It consists in excising a band of conjunctiva and subconjunctival tissue..from around the cornea.
