1. Path. A disease mostly affecting young females about the age of puberty, characterized by anæmia, suppression or irregularity of the menses, and a pale or greenish complexion; green sickness.

a. A disease or affection of plants, in which the green parts become blanched or yellow through the chlorophyll not being developed, either on account of the absence of light (= etiolation), or spec. for want of iron in the soil.
b. The turning green of some part normally of another colour, as in the reversion of petals to the form of green leaves.
