Williams's rendering of toddaid, lit. ‘a dissolving’, name of a Welsh metre of 10 + 9 syllables. So perˈfluid a., ‘dissolving’: applied to the ‘conveyed’ word or words that follow the rime-word in the first line of the toddaid: as in
A vynno evo a vydd—yn ei vro
A'r hyn a vynno na bo ni bydd.
