Of or pertaining to the conditions affecting health, esp. with reference to cleanliness and precautions against infection and other deleterious influences; pertaining to or concerned with sanitation. Also occas. of conditions or surroundings: Free from deleterious influences. Also sanitary reform, sanitary reformer.
